For whatever reasons you might not be able to get to the gym today, you can still reach today's fitness goals.
Here are some great ideas to keep you on-track:
Focus on Food First!
Are you really serious about getting in shape? As you may know, both training and diet contribute equally to fitness success.
Managing your diet is absolutely essential to getting in shape, and staying in shape. If you're eating whatever you want, you simply won’t reach your fitness goals.
You'd like to start seeing results soon, right? Get a grip, and get your diet on-point, first. If you don't, all your hard work will be wasted, and your time to total success will just be that much further away.

Join a Walking/Running Group
A walking or running group can be a fun alternative to going to the gym. Join one, or start one! Think about all the benefits: You'll get in a great cardio workout, and the group will keep you on-track and accountable (training every day, not skipping days). It’s a unique opportunity to look for workout partners, and to socialize more. The best part is, you can easily stay 6 feet away from your fellow runners, and avoid spreading any sort of virus to your group. Everyone will be up for that!
As we're writing this, gyms are closed due to the coronavirus spread. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t use online gym services. For example, many gyms are offering free live online training classes. Everything from HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) to Zumba classes. Locate some online gym training classes and join in on the fun!
YouTube Training Videos
With YouTube, you have access to a seemingly unending profusion of free training videos. The best part is you can choose any kind of workout video, and work out when it's convenient for you. Try something new, too! Seriously, try a new yoga routine, a weightlifting session, HIIT, and literally anything else that comes to mind.
If you have access to a pool, swimming is a great low-impact, full-body workout. Most public swimming pools are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak, but if you have a private swimming pool, now can be the perfect time to get some extra workout in every lap! Use any extra time you might have currently with the temporary business closures, and get in some swimming.
Riding a bike outdoors can be a fun, healthy and energetic way to get in some training and add interest to your daily routine. It's a challenging lower body exercise, working your quads and hamstrings. Unlike walking or non-competitive running, you can go many miles -- much further in distance than you might've thought possible.
Hiking is a low-impact, aerobic exercise that practically anyone can do. That it's outdoors makes it even more uplifting for your mood. So, get out of the house and hit the trails!
At-Home Workout Apps
There's an amazing array of free at-home workout apps to explore. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, many apps are offering free trials. So, it's your perfect opportunity to try out new workouts you never even thought of before. Look for one or two (or ten) that you really like! This is a great article to find out more: Best Free At-Home Workout Apps.
Maybe not so surprisingly, classes like Zumba can help you burn just as many calories as jogging. Dancing is a whole-body workout that helps you work on your balance, coordination, and strength. Plus, it’s fun!
If you’re looking for a new high impact cardio workout, boxing packs a serious punch! Boxing classes burn more calories than most cardio workouts. Be a contender! Lose fat fast by getting in the ring with a boxing class.
You may not think it’s hard, but actually, yoga can be quite physically exhausting -- in a good way. If you’re looking to tone your body, improve your flexibility and just be generally more relaxed, yoga could be your thing.
